Troubleshooting method of oil pump of boiler burner

Sep 04, 2022

1. The oil pump does not run.
In order to eliminate the fault, the cause of the fault must be checked. For this reason, possible causes such as whether there is oil in the fuel tank, whether the valve is closed or blocked, whether there is air in the system, whether the oil filter and fuel injector are clean, whether the oil pressure and vacuum degree are normal, etc., should be eliminated. If still can't solve the problem. Check whether the coupling between the motor and the oil pump is in good condition. If the oil pump still does not run, the oil pump should be replaced.
2. The oil pump does not absorb oil.
The reliable operation of the whole system has a great relationship with the oil absorption capacity of the oil pump and the relative position of the oil tank and the oil pump. When the oil pump cannot absorb oil, first install the vacuum gauge on the correct interface of the oil pump. If the indicated value of the vacuum gauge is still 0 after the system is running, you need to check:
1. Whether only the motor rotates, and the oil pump shaft There is no turning. This is most likely a failed or loose coupling.
2. If the oil pump does run, check whether the rotation direction and speed of the oil pump are correct.
During inspection, the vacuum gauge should be connected to the oil pump. If it is determined that there is no vacuum, a general inspection can be made, that is, a small barrel of fuel oil is placed next to the oil pump, the suction end of the oil pump is inserted into the oil barrel, and the oil pump is started to see if the oil pump can be sucked in. , and pay attention to whether the oil filter of the oil pump has been installed in time. After inspection, still can not absorb oil, only to replace the oil pump.

3. The oil pressure of the oil pump cannot be adjusted.
If the oil pressure of the oil pump cannot be adjusted or the indication of the oil pressure gauge is incorrect, the reasons may be as follows:
1. The coupling between the oil pump and the motor fails.
2. The oil pressure gauge fails.
3. The oil pressure gauge is not installed correctly.
4. The oil pressure regulating valve fails or is blocked. In this case, the oil pressure gauge can only indicate one pressure.
5. There is air in the oil, which will make the indication of the oil pressure gauge unstable.
6. Improper selection of oil pump. If the flow rate of the selected oil pump is smaller than that of the fuel injector, the pressure measured by the oil pressure gauge is very low.
7. The gear is worn and the oil pump cannot generate enough pressure.
8. The fuel is too thin. Viscosity decreases and nozzle flow decreases.
9. The oil pump may not be suitable for kerosene.
In view of the above fault reasons, and then take the corresponding treatment methods.
4. the oil pressure is unstable.
The oil pressure is unstable, which will lead to changes in flow and spray mode, resulting in poor combustion effect.
The possible reasons for unstable oil pressure are:
1. There is air on the pipeline or the vacuum degree of the oil pump is too high.
2. The oil pump pressure regulating valve is too dirty.
3. The spring on the pressure regulating valve fails.
4. The coupling is not good, causing the speed to change.

5. The oil pump is overheated
If the temperature of the oil pump is very high, the problem is more serious. The reasons may be: the coupling is not installed properly. If its length is large, it may exert force on the pump shaft. This force is transmitted to the oil pump, overloading the oil pump and generating heat. This is mainly caused by switching to different length couplings.
In a single-pipe system (no return line), a large-sized oil pump can also overheat the oil pump when supplying oil from a small flow nozzle. For example, the flow rate of the oil pump used is 100L/h, while the flow rate of the nozzle is only 20L/h. In the single-pipe system, only 20L/h of new oil is supplied from the oil tank, while the other 80L/h of oil is in the system. cycle, which will cause the oil pump to increase in temperature. (The opposite is true in a two-pipe system, which cools the pump when the high-flow oil pump feeds the low-flow nozzle).
If the oil pump is too dirty, it will also increase its internal friction and increase the temperature of the oil pump.
According to the problems detected, take corresponding measures.
6. Noise generated by the oil
pump Shortly after starting, the oil pump emits noise, and its volume gradually increases, it is likely that the valve on the oil suction line is still closed and not opened, so that the vacuum degree increases, oil and gas are separated, air enters the oil pump, and the oil pump emits "Protest". Under normal circumstances, when the vacuum degree reaches a 0.5 × 105Pa, the oil pump will roar, and the valve should be opened immediately.
When the oil filter on the oil suction pipe, the shut-off valve is blocked or the oil suction pipe is crushed, the oil pump will also make noise. Other reasons include: the diameter of the suction pipe does not match, the height difference of the suction oil is too large, or the pipeline is blocked by dirt, etc.
When the oil suction pipe leaks, the oil pump will also make noise. At this time, install a pressure gauge to check the oil pressure, and the pointer of the pressure gauge will jump around. That is, when the vacuum degree is too low, it indicates that there is air leakage. After the cause of the failure is determined, the corresponding treatment method can be taken.
