Routine Maintenance for Boiler Burners

Oct 16, 2025

SWT Burner Manufacturing provides routine maintenance instructions for boiler burners:

1. Cleaning Boiler Burner Components

a. Remove deposits from the flame stabilizer and clear the gaps. Remove carbon deposits from the electrodes.

b. Use carburetor cleaner to clean the fuel injector, nozzle, fuel pipe, and fuel suction pipe. If there is deposits on the fuel pipe and fuel suction pipe, use a cleaning rod to clear them. Check the O-rings for integrity and replace them if necessary. Do not use carburetor cleaner to clean O-rings.

c. Remove oil deposits from the heater wire and temperature sensor. Remove sludge from the bottom of the heated oil sump.

d. Clean the filter canister and filter screen. Drain the oil in the oil tank, remove sludge from the bottom, and clean the oil tank.

2. Assemble in reverse order of assembly.

When installing the electrodes, pay attention to the gap between the electrodes (2.5mm) and the gap between the electrodes and other components. (Do not ground.) After assembly, add oil to the heated oil reservoir to the level mark before installing and using. (The above burner maintenance should be performed annually.)

3. Daily Maintenance of Boiler Burners

Cleaning the Flame Stabilizer (clean every 3-15 days, depending on the cleanliness of the fuel oil and burner usage). Method: Remove the burner and clean the flame stabilizer with carburetor cleaner to remove carbon deposits and coke, ensuring the gap between the plate and the surface is clear. Also, check the ignition electrode gap (2.5 mm) and the gap between the electrode and other components. (Do not ground.)

Cleaning the Fuel Injector and Oil Pipe (Clean every three months). Method: Use high-pressure air to blow at the fuel injector to clear the oil flow. (Do not use carburetor cleaner to clean the fuel injector.)
Clean the filter, photoreceptor, and oil overflow tank (clean regularly based on usage).
